When the eldest daughter of a family of settlers is captured by an American Indian warrior, her brother, Sam Sutter (Stewart Petersen), sets out to rescue her. Along the way, he encounters a wise, but alcoholic trapper named Russian (Richard Boone) who agrees to help him.
