New teacher Max Bygraves arrives at a tough East London school to find that his modern education methods are not welcome. Sadistic master Geoffrey Keen grabs the rod and thrashes pupils at the slightest sight of trouble, supported by hesitant Headmaster Donald Pleaseance. A good film that should be shown more
Excellent portrayal of life in a tough school with even tougher teachers. Bygraves is in an unusual role for him but this doesn't stop him giving a great performance. Top supporting cast too.
